I don't disagree. Since I wrote this piece in May, Swine Flu has spread worldwide, and a vaccine has been developed. Now people have to decide whether or not to become vaccinated. That is a personal decision each individual who has access to the vaccine needs to make. My main point is that fear contributes to making the threat worse than it is and not to give over one's power to fear in this or any other earth- or human-caused change we may encounter on our path to 2012 and beyond. Holding a peaceful, calm center in the face of tumultuous change is not easy, but it is what the world needs right now--not more fear and anger! It brings up very valid concerns that I am sure many people are having on what is going to happen on the day the mayan long count calendar ends. I myself see it as a shift in consciousness. A new way of thought possibly? Anyhow I like this book called "the 100th human" it has a different perspective on what will happen on december 21st 2012.
